Rare beef with an Asian dipping sauce (FODMAP friendly, gluten free)

A few friends dropped by unexpectedly in the afternoon.  We open a bottle of red wine and feeling a bit peckish. Something quick and mess free to share would be lovely –  a piece of Angus beef steak cooked 3 minutes on each side was just the perfect snack.

While the steak is resting, I made a simple 4-part dipping sauce – fish sauce (1 tsp) + rice wine vinegar (1tsp) + water (1tsp) + sugar (1tsp) + chopped chili. The sauce calls for garlic, but can be skipped for a fodmap friendly option.
