Spicy green beans

This is a simple dish with chili bean paste and pork or chicken. It can be served in 20 minutes – it is salty, sweet and spicy.

Spicy green bean with soy bean paste

  • 150g green beans, washed and trim off the ends
  • 50g diced chicken
  • some diced onion
  • some slices of red chili / red capsicum
  • 1 tsp chili soy bean paste (picture below)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • cooking oil


Bring some hot water to boil in a pot, add beans and cooked for 1 minute; pour the green beans into a colander above a sink, run the green beans briefly under tap water to cool.

Bring cooking oil to hot in a frying pan, add pork mince and separate the mince with a spatula so there is no large lumps; add sugar,  chili soy bean paste, sesame oil, stir fry until the pork is cooked; add beans, toss; to serve.
