Grilled chicken marinated with cumin, turmeric, garam masala, mustard oil, sesame oil, ginger and garlic; tossed with coconut and sesame seeds.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg chicken thigh fillet or drumstick fillet, sliced to bite size
- 2 tsp. minced ginger
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 1/3 cup of plain yogurt
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp mustard oil
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp sesame seeds, toasted
- 1 tbsp. desiccated coconut
Method
- Mix the chicken with all ingredients except for sesame seeds and desiccated coconut; preferably leaving in the fridge to marinate overnight
- Brush a gridle with some cooking oil; in small batches, grill the chicken until cooked; toss in sesame seeds and desiccated coconut before transfer the chicken to a serving plate
